Alexei Navalny Has Died

Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny has died in a correctional colony. This was reported by the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation.

"On February 16, 2024, in correctional colony No. 3, inmate A.A. Navalny felt unwell after a walk, almost immediately losing consciousness," the statement reads.

The announcement notes that medical staff arrived promptly at the facility and an ambulance crew was called. According to RT, the cause was thrombosis.

It is worth noting that Navalny has been serving his sentence in a special regime colony since December 2023.

The monitoring public commission from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug reports that Navalny did not complain of health issues.
