Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Responds to Nikol Pashinyan's Statements

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has issued a statement addressing the remarks made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with the Armenian community in Munich. This information has been reported by local media.

“Despite the constructive and beneficial atmosphere of the meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia initiated by the Chancellor of Germany, and calls for the normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, delimitation of borders, and a peace treaty, the statements made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which mislead the international community, are regrettable,” the statement from the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reads.

According to Baku's statement, the requirements reflected in Armenia's constitution and legislative acts must be eliminated in regard to Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

“As for the Armenian side's claim that Azerbaijan has violated the trilateral statement, everyone is well aware that it lacks any basis. It is Armenia that, contrary to its assumed obligations, has not withdrawn its armed forces from Azerbaijani territory and has not fulfilled its commitment to open communications. The Armenian side must understand that the path to ensuring peace and stability in the region lies in establishing relations with neighboring countries based on the reaffirmation and respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, and through direct constructive negotiations with Azerbaijan,” the message states.
