Snipers Worked with Night Vision Devices, Says Head of EKC Arabkir Division
Today, the last farewell was held in Yerablur for 44-year-old Arsen Hambardzumyan, who was killed by an Azerbaijani sniper in Nerk’in Hand.
In the early morning of February 13, four Armenian positions fell victim to an assault by Azerbaijani forces. “The sniper hit everyone; they turned on the night vision scope and worked with it from the tents. The injuries of two of the four victims were from the heart, and the other two were from the head. Only a sniper could work like that,” said Sargis Mikaelyan, the head of the Arabkir division of the Volunteer Corps (EKC), in an interview with Azatutyun.
He recounted that his comrade had been in the Nerk’in Hand positions since spring. “Arsen was the squad leader; for months they prepared that position with his commander… unfortunately, he didn’t get to enjoy it. He always said that the positions should be arranged in such a way that soldiers are protected.”
