Matthew Miller on Yesterday's Incident at the Border

We are concerned about reports of fatal clashes between military personnel at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This was stated by State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller during a press briefing.

“We are troubled by reports of clashes between military personnel that have resulted in several casualties. The use of force undermines the efforts to negotiate. The only path to stable peace is at the negotiating table; any violation of the ceasefire will be investigated. We express our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and injured,” he said.

Miller emphasized that the United States is committed to facilitating peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
