Vahan Kerobyan Resigns

It has come to be that I will no longer serve as the Minister of Economy. This was stated by the Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan on his Facebook page.

“During these more than 3 years, I have worked with complete dedication, filled with love for every resident of Armenia. I worked at least six days a week, averaging from 8 AM to 9 PM, with a total of only 15-16 used vacation days over three years. Each day of my work, I lived with the dominant drive to create a powerful Armenia,” he wrote.

“Compared to 2020, Armenia's GDP in 2023 has increased by about 100% in US dollars, and by about 50% in Armenian drams. During this period, Armenia has risen from 112th place to 86th place in terms of GDP per capita, surpassing Azerbaijan, Belarus, and many other countries for the first time.”

“The budgeted programs of the Ministry of Economy have increased from 12.5 billion drams in 2019 to 91 billion drams for 2024. There has been a sharp increase in labor productivity and investment volume, and Armenia's foreign trade turnover has also surged.”

“When I assumed the ministerial position on November 20, 2020, there was a high likelihood that I would stay there for just a few days or months as the chance of a regime change was very high. During this time, due to many disagreements, I often wanted to leave this job. However, I subordinated my personal desires in order to maximize the value of my service to my country.”

“I thank the Prime Minister for this opportunity to serve my country,” he added.
