VIDEO: Floods in Turkey Leave Casualties

Heavy rain has caused flooding in Antalya, Turkey, resulting in the suspension of education in several districts. This information has been reported by RIA Novosti.

“The downpour that began in the center of Antalya last night intensified. Due to the heavy rain, waterlogged roads have formed, making it difficult for citizens and vehicles to navigate. In several villages of Shirak province, fires have broken out, and there are reported casualties. Transport communication has been disrupted in some areas due to the torrential rain,” the publication states.

A written statement from the Antalya governor's office mentions that adverse weather conditions persist in the city. “Due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions, flooding, and inundation, education has been suspended for one day in our five central districts — Aksu, Dışemealtı, Kepez, Konyaaltı, and Muratpaşa — according to the decision of the health department on Tuesday, February 13, 2024,” the statement reads.
