On February 13, Gagik Varazdati Manukyan (born in 1982) was killed as a result of Azerbaijani Armed Forces fire directed at Armenian positions located in the Nerkhin Hand area. He hailed from the Kasakh settlement in the Kotayk province.
ArmLur.am spoke with Artak Tovmasyan, the head of the Kasakh community in the Kotayk province, for more details. "He was a life-loving, very cheerful person, sociable, loving towards his relatives, a proud son of a great nation; we can only say good things about him. He has been defending our borders for many years and participated in both the four-day and 44-day wars," he stated.
Gagik Manukyan was 42 years old, married, and had three children: one son and two daughters. "One daughter is a student, while the other two are in school," Tovmasyan added.
According to Artak Tovmasyan, Gagik was a patriot who enjoyed the respect of the community and was well-liked by those around him. They lived in a socially stable environment. He had also worked as a gardener in the Vahagni district. Tovmasyan recounted, "He had gone to the front lines several times to protect Armenian positions. His willingness to go voluntarily to defend our borders speaks volumes about his human and patriotic values. He was a hardworking and patriotic man," the community leader concluded.
