What Violations Were Discovered at the 'Julius' Restaurant: Details from the Food Safety Inspectorate
The suspension of the production activities of the 'Julius' restaurant, located at 39 Pushkin Street, Yerevan, which belongs to 'Mint' LLC, was based not only on the release of hazardous products but also on violations of sanitary and hygienic norms established by legal acts.
Specifically, during an inspection conducted by inspectors from the Food Safety Inspectorate's Yerevan Center, the following discrepancies were found in the establishment's area for preparing flour confections: the food structure was not equipped with separate storage areas for washing and disinfecting materials, the walls lacked a smooth surface, were not in a repaired condition, and were not made of easily cleanable, waterproof, non-absorbent, and washable materials. The ceilings and upper structures, windows, and other openings were not designed and constructed to prevent or minimize the accumulation of dirt, condensation of steam, growth of undesirable molds, and the potential for particle fall.
Additionally, insect protection nets were absent, the toilet door opened directly into the food preparation room, and food waste was not placed in appropriate sealed containers. The monitoring body has set a deadline for eliminating the identified violations.
