Trump Says He Would 'Encourage' Russia to Attack NATO Member Countries

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he would 'encourage' Russia to attack NATO member countries if they refuse to meet their financial obligations, causing outrage at the White House. According to RIA Novosti, this was reported by The Guardian.

He recalled an incident during a campaign rally in South Carolina on Saturday where 'one of the big country's presidents got up and said, “Well, sir, if we don’t pay, and Russia attacks us, will you defend us?” I said, “You haven’t paid; you are in debt.”

He added that he wouldn’t help in such a situation: ‘No, I won’t defend you. Moreover, I would encourage them to do what they want. You need to pay. You have to pay your bills,’ Trump concluded.

White House Press Secretary Andrew Bates condemned his remarks, adding that such words jeopardize the security, stability, and economy of the United States.
