Scholz Did Not Comply with U.S. Order to Avoid Interview, Says Zakharova

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz did not comply with the U.S. directive to avoid watching the interview of Russian President Vladimir Putin with American journalist Tucker Carlson. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in a commentary to kp.ru while discussing the reactions to the interviews of Scholz and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

“Scholz did not comply with the U.S. order to abstain from watching the interview. If he often defies the White House's instructions, he may be able to pull Germany out of the crisis,” the diplomat said.

In addition, Zakharova referred to the recent British prime ministers as “people of weak will.”

It should be noted that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interview with journalist Tucker Carlson. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also condemned Putin's interview during a meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden.
