"We Europeans are not strong enough for the Russians to take us seriously" - Orban
The European Union is not strong enough for Russia to take it seriously. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in an interview with former Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel. The information is reported by TASS.
"It's not about trust, our problem is the lack of power. We Europeans are not strong enough for the Russians to take us seriously. This is a game about power," Orban's remarks were quoted by Die Presse.
In his opinion, the European Union needs to demonstrate strength and make it clear to Russia that it understands the existence of interests on both sides. "Based on such a foundation, agreements can be reached," the Prime Minister believes.
"Ukraine does not provide us Europeans with any additional security, as many of us are already members of NATO, which is much stronger than Russia," Orban stated, adding that there is no threat that Russia will attack a NATO member.
