Zakharova's Reaction to UN Secretary-General's Statement on Not Watching Putin's Interview

The fact that UN Secretary-General António Guterres has not watched the interview of Russian President Vladimir Putin with American journalist Tucker Carlson highlights a deep crisis within the organization. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on her Telegram channel.

She reminded that during a briefing at the UN on February 9, when asked whether the Secretary-General had seen the interview, the response was: “In his free time, the Secretary-General prefers to read books about medieval history rather than watch television.”

“Interestingly, will other pressing international events also remain without the deep analysis of the organization’s leadership for the same reason?” she wrote.
