NATO Secretary General Calls for Preparation for Long-Term Confrontation with Russia

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has called on alliance members to prepare for a confrontation with Russia that could last for decades, in comments to Welt. This information has been reported by RIA Novosti.

He also urged the development of their military capabilities. “NATO is not seeking war with Russia... But we must arm ourselves for a potential confrontation that may last for decades,” Stoltenberg stated.

He emphasized that currently, the best defense is support for Ukraine and investments in NATO’s military structures.
