Investigative Committee Provides Details on Daniel Ioannisyan's Car Arson Case

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed details regarding the arson of the car belonging to Daniel Ioannisyan, the program coordinator of the "Civic Solidarity Platform" NGO.

"A report was received from Daniel Ioannisyan stating that on February 8 at 12:55 PM, he noticed traces of arson on his parked 'Volvo' vehicle on Paris Herouni Street in the Davtashen district of Yerevan, which resulted in partial burning of the car's rear bumper," the Investigative Committee informed Radar Armenia.

"On the same day, the Investigative Committee's investigative division for the Ajapnyak and Davtashen districts initiated a criminal case under Part 2, Article 44-264 of the Criminal Code. An examination of the crime scene has been conducted, revealing burned traces on the vehicle's bumper and a glass bottle on the concrete covering next to the vehicle," the Committee stated, adding that Ioannisyan has been recognized as a victim and provided testimony expressing his suspicions regarding the incident.

Forensic, fingerprint, fire-technical, and material examinations have been commissioned. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has been instructed to implement operational-search measures. The pre-investigation is ongoing, with efforts being made to clarify the circumstances of the incident, verify existing data, and identify the individuals who allegedly committed the arson.

It is worth noting that Daniel Ioannisyan, the program coordinator of the "Civic Solidarity Platform," had previously stated that an attempt was made to set his car on fire and suspects the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Artsakh, regarding articles he wrote about alleged corruptions.
