Blocked and Impassable Roads: Situation in Armenia

The Rescue Service reports that there are blocked and impassable roads within the territory of Armenia.

Due to road renovation work, the M-6 highway section between Vanadzor and Alaverdi will be closed for buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers from the 38th to the 40th kilometer until February 15. A detour will operate through the town of Noyemberyan.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed due to a snowstorm, as well as the Berd-Jambarak road and the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake.

The roads from Jrarber to Fantan and from Kaputan to Zovashen are difficult to pass for all types of vehicles due to snowstorms.

According to the information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open only for passenger cars. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
