Roads Closed: Current Situation in Armenia
The Emergency Services Department reports that there are closed and difficult passages for vehicles throughout the territory of Armenia. Until February 15, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi at kilometers 38-40 will be closed to buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers due to road repair works. An alternative route will be operational via the town of Noyemberyan.
In the Aragatsotn region, roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is experiencing severe snowfall, and the section of the Spitak-Gyumri road from kilometers 18-27 is also affected by snow. The roads in Berd-Jambarak and the regional areas of Ashotq and Amasia, as well as intercommunity roads near Lake Arpi, are closed to all types of vehicles.
The roads from Alagyaz to Tsilkhar, Norashen to Alagyaz, and from the Jermuk intersection to the Syunik region are closed to trucks with trailers. The roads from Dzraber to Fantan, Kaputjan to Zovashen, and the Ashotq-Vardaghbyur and Amasia-Gyumri routes are difficult to navigate for all types of vehicles. Snowfall is reported in the areas known as "Meghri Mountain" and Shinuhr-Zanger, and in the Alagyaz-Tsilkhar and Norashen-Alagyaz roads, as well as near Lake Arpi and in the regions of Aparan and Aragats.
Regarding Lars: According to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia in the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
