Putin's Visit to Turkey Postponed

The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey, scheduled for February 12, has been postponed. This was announced on X (Twitter) by Hürriyet newspaper journalist Hande Firat.

“Putin's visit has been postponed. The reason is the electoral schedules in both countries and work commitments,” she stated.

Earlier, Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov mentioned that preparations for negotiations between Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan are ongoing. The Kremlin spokesman did not confirm the information regarding the postponement of the Russian leader's visit.

“No timelines have been announced; we continue preparing for communications at the highest level, and the timelines will be coordinated,” he noted.

Peskov had previously suggested that Putin's visit to Turkey was planned before the presidential elections in Russia, which are set to take place from March 15 to 17. Media outlets had indicated the date of February 12, but this information has not been officially confirmed.
