VIDEO: The City of Ideas Will Ensure the Release of Alen Simonyan's Brother's Wife and the Director of Synergy, Arshakyan
A person who has contributed to our country, engaged in important work and dedicates time to publish a book deserves applause, said Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan during a conversation with journalists at the parliament today. This statement was made in connection with his recent call for applause for Ashot Hovhannisyan, the director of the imprisoned company Synergy, during the opening of a conference titled 'Artificial Intelligence for Business.'
“When a book is written about someone, it requires significant work from that person as well. Psychologically, of course, you can interpret this as a form of support,” he noted.
In response to a question about whether he and his colleagues would file a petition to change the detention measure for Hovhannisyan, Arshakyan replied, “Yes, there is such a decision regarding the women who have young children and concerning Ashot Hovhannisyan. This is a decision of the group faction.”
It is worth mentioning that a week ago, seven individuals were arrested at the Ministry of Economy, including Ani Ispriyan, who was recently dismissed from her position as Deputy Minister of Economy. Ani Gevorgyan, Alen Simonyan's brother's wife, has also been detained.
Following the arrests at the Ministry of Economy, several employees from one of the most well-known IT organizations, Synergy, were also arrested. It was later revealed that Ashot Hovhannisyan and Alen Simonyan's brother's wife, Ani Gevorgyan, had been detained.
Ashot Hovhannisyan, the founder and director of Synergy, holds dual citizenship, including US citizenship. He is the father-in-law of Lusine Tovmasyan, the host who won the 'Vice Miss Europe-2005' beauty pageant.
A year and a half ago, Synergy participated in one of the tenders announced by the Ministry of Economy. Four companies took part, but the competition was canceled, and naturally, Synergy did not win. However, the tender was later awarded to Synergy, which may have raised suspicions among law enforcement.
