Public Transport Fare Changes in Yerevan: 90 to 500 Dram
During the upcoming session of the Yerevan City Council on February 13, a total of 10 questions will be considered, among which the 7th question has garnered significant public interest. This question pertains to the issue of setting fares for intra-community bus services provided by an operator with 100% community participation in the municipality of Yerevan.
The draft reveals that a unified ticketing system will be introduced in Yerevan soon. There will be different fare rates for service routes. The fare structures proposed are as follows:
- For a "30-day" Mifare physical card ticket, activation must occur within 30 days of purchase, allowing for 60 journeys within 30 days post-activation, at 183.3 dram per use.
- For a "30-day" Mifare Telcell wallet ticket, the same conditions apply as above, but the fare is set at 180 dram per use.
- For a "90-day" Mifare physical card ticket, similar activation conditions apply, allowing for 180 journeys at a rate of 138.8 dram each.
- For a "90-day" Mifare Telcell wallet ticket, it allows for 180 journeys at a rate of 133.3 dram each.
- For a "365-day" Mifare physical card ticket, allowing for 1000 journeys at 110 dram each.
- For a "365-day" Mifare Telcell wallet ticket, it allows 1000 journeys at 106 dram each.
- For a "1-day" paper QR ticket enabling 8 journeys within 24 hours at 112.5 dram each.
- For a "1-day" electronic Telcell wallet ticket allowing the same amount of journeys at 110 dram each.
- For a "7-day" paper QR ticket enabling 30 journeys at 166.6 dram each.
- For a "7-day" electronic Telcell wallet ticket allowing the same journey count at 160 dram each.
- For a "70-minute" paper QR ticket enabling 3 journeys within 70 minutes at 100 dram each.
- For a "70-minute" electronic Telcell wallet ticket allowing 3 journeys within the same timeframe at 93.3 dram each.
- For a "Multiple Use" Mifare physical card ticket allowing 10 uses per vehicle at 260 dram each.
- For a "Multiple Use" Mifare Telcell wallet ticket allowing 10 uses at 250 dram each.
- A ticket to "Zvartnots Airport" purchased as a paper QR allows for a single journey at 500 dram.
- The "Zvartnots Airport" bank contactless card ticket costs 500 dram at point of sale.
- For the "Zvartnots Airport" electronic Telcell wallet ticket, it costs 480 dram for a single journey within 10 days of activation.
It is important to note that, if the draft is approved, the decision will come into force on September 1, 2024.
