No Gold Bullion Produced in Armenia, Says Vahan Kerobyan

The Minister of Economy, Vahan Kerobyan, announced in the National Assembly that the government's economic policy is bringing the country closer to its targets, aiming to increase the export of goods and services to 60% of GDP.

In response to a question from Arthur Khachatryan, a member of the 'Hayastan' faction, regarding the production of bullion in Armenia, Khachatryan questioned, 'How is it possible that in a country where agriculture and industry have grown by 1.2% and 4.5% annually, exports suddenly increased? How did diamond exports reach approximately $660 million?'

Vahan Kerobyan replied that no gold bullion is currently being produced in Armenia. Regarding gold mines, he noted that raw gold is being exported from there, stating, 'This does not yet constitute a final standard gold bullion in Armenia, but we are working in that direction, and it is likely that we will have updates soon.'

Kerobyan informed that there are about 10 companies in Armenia engaged in the foreign trade of gold, palladium, and platinum.
