Emergency Situation in Gegharkunik Region: Several Tons of Snow Block Road Near Sevan Tunnel

Today, on February 6, an emergency situation has emerged in the Gegharkunik region. Around 18:10, the Police Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information that a significant portion of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway has been blocked due to an avalanche near the beginning of the Sevan Tunnel.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, following the order of the head of the Patrol Service, Police Colonel Artur Khudinyan, patrol officers from the Gegharkunik Provincial Division have promptly arrived at the scene, led by Battalion Commander Albert Martirosyan, Senior Inspector Bakur Saribekyan, and Inspector Hrachya Gevorgyan.

Employees of the Road Department have also arrived swiftly at the scene, headed by Executive Director Gor Avetisyan.
