Most Popular Baby Names in Armenia for 2023

For the past eight years, the most common names given to newborns in Armenia have been David and Nare. This information is reported by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia, which has released a list of names given to babies born in 2023.

In 2023, a total of 36,265 children were born in Armenia, with 17,213 girls and 19,052 boys. For comparison, in 2022, 88 more children were born—36,353 in total, with 19,195 boys and 17,158 girls.

In 2023, there were 747 babies named Nare (in 2022, this number was 319) and 1,251 named David (up from 590 in 2022).

Narek took the second spot among boys' names (906), followed by Hayk (602) and Mark (570). In terms of girls' names, Arpi ranked second (616 newborns), followed by Marian (522) and Lucy (401).

The top ten names for boys also included Tigran, Arek, Monte, Mikayel, Robert, and Leo, while the girls' list featured Mane, Mari, Eva, Luce, Angelina, and Anna.

Each list comprises 50 names, with the last five positions for boys occupied by Noah, Henry, Adam, Albert, and Vahan, and for girls by Narine, Sofya, Anush, Victoria, Armina, and Monika.
