United States Will Not Intervene in Decision to Dismiss Zaluzhnyi, Sullivan
The United States will not intervene in the Ukrainian authorities' possible decision to dismiss Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced by Jake Sullivan, the U.S. National Security Advisor, during a broadcast on CBS.
“We have been clear that we do not intend to intervene in this specific decision. We have communicated this directly to the Ukrainian side,” Sullivan stated, emphasizing that Washington considers personnel decisions to be solely the business of the Ukrainian authorities.
“Therefore, we do not interfere in these personnel decisions. It is the sovereign right of Ukraine and its president,” he added.
