iOS 18 to be the Largest Update in Operating System History

According to Bloomberg, iOS 18 will be "the biggest update to iOS, if not the largest in the company's history." Apple's software chief Craig Federighi has informed employees that the upcoming OS, codenamed Crystal, will introduce "ambitious changes across the platform."

The major changes expected in iOS 18 include an updated version of Siri powered by AI (artificial intelligence) and the possibility of using LLM (Large Language Models), AI integration in the Messages app for active suggestions and autocomplete, new AI features in Apple Music for creating personalized playlists, and integrated AI generative capabilities in iWork applications such as Keynote and Pages. Additionally, Xcode will include generative AI features to simplify app development.
