Why Vahan Kereobyan Has Been Summoned for Interrogation
According to the daily newspaper 'Joghouvourd', the preliminary investigation body is expected to summon the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Vahan Kereobyan, for interrogation. This decision follows discussions within the investigation body regarding procurement processes carried out with the minister's approval.
It is worth noting that yesterday ArmLur.am reported that the Investigative Committee has brought charges against seven individuals in connection to a criminal case involving abuses within the Ministry of Economy. Among those charged are the dismissed Deputy Minister Ani Ispryan and Ani Gevorgyan, the wife of the Speaker of Parliament, Alen Simonian. All seven defendants involved in the criminal case are currently in custody.
Significantly, evidence has been obtained during extensive operational and investigative measures conducted by the National Security Service of Armenia and within the framework of the criminal proceedings led by the General Directorate of Investigating Crimes against the State, Constitutional Order, and Public Safety, which indicates that officials from the Ministry of Economy, with prior agreement and with the prompting and assistance of a group of individuals, have abused their official powers.
This situation may continue to develop further.
