I Am Saddened That You Compare the Sovereign Territory of Armenia with Artsakh: Aleksanyan
I am currently experiencing great sorrow that you compare the sovereign territory of Armenia with Artsakh. This was stated by the MP of the ruling Civil Contract party, Vahagn Aleksanyan, while responding to journalists' questions in the National Assembly regarding whether there are any guarantees that regions like Syunik will not face the fate of Artsakh.
Aleksanyan asserted that this comparison is a grave mistake, stemming from a political approach that has been maintained in Armenia for the past 30 years. “But that does not mean that Artsakh did not have a connection with Armenia. When you say we ceded Artsakh, I ask you to look for those who made those concessions elsewhere. I have not signed the decree on the dissolution of Artsakh, which will take effect on January 1, 2024; rather, it was signed by individuals who are regularly portrayed positively by almost all media outlets present here,” he noted.
