Closed and Difficult Roads in Armenia
The Emergency Situations Service reports that there are closed and difficult roads in Armenia. Until February 15, due to road repair works, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi, between kilometers 38-40, will be closed for buses and cargo vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers. A diversion route will operate through the city of Noyemberyan.
In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the ‘Amberd’ high-altitude meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Karametria Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is passable for cargo vehicles with trailers only if winter chains are used. The roads near Stepanavan are difficult for trucks with trailers.
As for the Lars road, according to information from the Emergency Situations Departments of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia in Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
