Travel on Winter Tires: Roads Closed and Difficult to Traverse

The Rescue Service informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia. Until February 15, due to road repairs, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi at kilometers 38-40 will be closed for buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers. The detour route will operate through the town of Noyemberyan.

In the Aragatsotn province, the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake K'ari are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers and difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles. The serpentine roads of Stepanavan are difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
