If a Business Refuses to Accept Cashless Payments, They Will Be Fined
What to do if a business refuses to accept payment in a cashless manner? Citizens who utilize retail outlets and service organizations and wish to make transactions electronically are entitled to do so, as businesses are required to accept necessary payments through payment cards and terminals (only kiosks are exempt from this obligation).
This information has been provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. In cases where a business refuses to accept cashless payments or does not provide the necessary means to do so, a fine of 300,000 AMD will be imposed. If the same violation is repeated within one year of being recorded, the subject will be fined 400,000 AMD.
Therefore, if citizens encounter such problems, they can report the incident to the State Revenue Committee of Armenia at the following phone numbers: 080 00 10 08 or 060 84 44 44.
It is also worth noting that pensioners and beneficiaries receive a 10% cashback when conducting cashless transactions; this program is available to all cardholders from different banks.
