Snow, Closed and Difficult Roads: Situation in Armenia
The rescue service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads within the territory of Armenia. Due to road renovation works, the M-6 highway section near Vanadzor-Alaverdi will be closed for buses and heavy-duty vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers until February 15. An alternative route will be available through the town of Noyemberyan.
In the Aragatsotn province, the roads leading from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station to the Amberd fortress and Kar lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass, Vanadzor-Dilijan highway, and the winding areas of Dilijan are also closed for heavy-duty vehicles with trailers. The Stepanavan winding roads are difficult to pass for heavy-duty vehicles with trailers.
In the Syunik province, it is currently snowing in the Vardenyats Pass, the towns of Masis, Vedi, and the Dilijan region.
Regarding the Lars situation, according to information received from the Georgian National Emergency Management Service and the Crisis Management Center of Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
