Mature Trees Purchased for Facade Sections: Reports from the Greenery and Environmental Protection Agency
The Greenery and Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statement regarding reports on its procurement processes. 'We inform you that the claim by the Hetq media outlet, stating that the organization purchased a single apricot sapling of the Shalakh variety for 19,500 AMD, when it could have been bought for 2,400 AMD, is not true. Hetq has demonstrated a lack of professionalism because the technical specifications of saplings vary, and therefore, their prices also differ. There are saplings that can cost 1,000 AMD, and there are mature trees that, according to their technical specifications, can be worth tens of thousands of AMD.'
It is important to note that the purchases were announced through an electronic system and were funded without financial means. The purchasing announcement included 26 lots, with five companies participating. Regarding Hetq's report that it concerns the same tree, we state that this is not true. The first purchasing procedure was aimed at establishing a forest, purchasing apricot saplings. The second purchasing procedure involved acquiring ready mature trees with established foliage, with 10-12 cm trunk diameters, which fruited in about two months. This is evident in the video published by the organization.
During this time, another competition took place, where 5,000 AMD was set, but the winning company was unable to supply the sapling, even one with an open root system, and ended up on the 'blacklist.' Consequently, the facts in Hetq's publication are evidently distorted. We expect that the media will review the documents, the technical specifications of the saplings and mature trees, will demonstrate a professional approach, and will issue a correction. The first image shows trees acquired in 2022, while the second and third images display trees purchased in 2023, wherein the differences are obvious.'
