List of 1000 Major Taxpayers Released

The "Zhoghovurd" newspaper reports that the State Revenue Committee of Armenia has published the list of the 1000 largest taxpayers for 2023. According to this list, the top six taxpayers are:

• “Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine” with revenues of 70.8 billion AMD,
• “Grand Tobacco” with 55.286 billion AMD,
• “Gazprom Armenia” with 48.5 billion AMD,
• “Mobile Center Art” with 46.1 billion AMD,
• “Fritti Way” with 33.2 billion AMD,
• “Wildberries” with 26.492 billion AMD.

For 2023, the largest taxpayer in the country continues to be the mining industry giant “Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine” (ZPMK). The company’s annual tax payments have decreased compared to the previous year. In 2022, the figure was 44 billion AMD, which had increased 2.3 times compared to 2021.

In the second position of the list of 1000 large taxpayers is “Grand Tobacco,” whose 2023 tax payments have increased by 2 billion AMD compared to 2022.

“Gazprom Armenia” has consistently remained among the top large taxpayers for an extended period. Interestingly, “Gazprom Armenia” has been reducing its taxes year by year; this year, it has ceded the second position to “Grand Tobacco.” Last year, “Gazprom Armenia”’s tax payments amounted to 52 billion AMD, almost 4 billion AMD lower than this year.

“Mobile Center Art,” which is a network of mobile phone stores, held the 6th position in the same list in 2022 but has now risen to the 4th position in 2023. Its tax payments quadrupled in 2022 to reach 17.6 billion AMD.

“Fritti Way,” which was in 22nd position last year with 8.520 billion AMD in annual tax payments, showed notable growth. Just in the first quarter of 2023, the company's payments increased significantly, raising it to the 5th position, with an increase of 25 billion AMD in taxes and fees.

“Wildberries’” tax revenues and payments have been sensational for the Armenian market. From January to December 2023, its tax payments nearly exceeded the previous year's figures by 35 times.

In both 2022 and 2023, the top 1000 large taxpayers accounted for approximately 77% of the State Budget’s tax revenues. In 2022, the state budget tax revenues amounted to 1.926 trillion AMD, while in 2023, it reached 2.221 trillion AMD, with 1.490 trillion AMD provided by the first 1000 large taxpayers.
