If Armenia follows their orders, it will suffer serious damage: Akar

The President of the Turkish National Assembly’s Defense Parliamentary Commission and former Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar, in a conversation with journalists, stated that Azerbaijan and Turkey continue to develop their cooperation under the principle of "One nation, two states" even after the 44-day war, uniting under the slogan "one army, one fist, and one heart".

"Our main goal is to ensure peace, stability, and cooperation in the region. From this perspective, we urge Yerevan to quickly accept Azerbaijan's proposal for signing a peace treaty and reaching stability in the region as soon as possible," Akar said.

According to him, some countries want to turn Armenia into a "proxy state." He added, "Armenia should accept Azerbaijan's extended hand for peace as soon as possible, and peace and tranquility must come to the region as soon as possible. We strive for this. Because Yerevan should know that any initiative undertaken in some way, with incentives and directions, will bring no benefit to it or the region and will not ease people's lives, as some countries want to somehow put Armenia in the 'uniform of a proxy state.' If Armenia follows their orders, it will suffer serious damage, as happened during the 44-day war. This must not be allowed. For us, the most important thing is peace, tranquility, and the future of the Caucasus," Akar added.

It is noteworthy that today, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by Hulusi Akar in Baku. The meeting discussed bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, the situation in the South Caucasus, and cooperation within the framework of the Turkic States Organization.
