Prime Minister Pashinyan: 'I can see with my own eyes that the road built 4 years ago is not in the condition it should be.'

‘Sometimes, when I drive and pass by the roads, I can see with my own eyes that the road built 4 years ago is not in the condition it should be,’ noted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during today’s government meeting.

‘The condition is worse, at least according to my perception, than it should be. However, on the other hand, we have accepted the road, inspections are being conducted there, but at every moment we do not have the answer to the question of whether the road commissioned 4 years, 5 years, 2 years, or six months ago is in the condition it should be according to our standards,’ he said.

According to the Prime Minister, the roads have deformed in places, and additional work has been carried out in some areas. ‘In the long term, there should be an answer to the question of how the road we commissioned will be after three years. And we should have a formula for what condition the road should be in,’ he stated.

In this context, he addressed the issue of overloading of trucks using those roads, emphasizing that the roads are not designed for such cases and deteriorate more quickly. ‘We installed scales, then people working at the scales were arrested, taken into custody, I don’t know if they are being tried or not, or if we have let them go again and regretted it. But we need to solve this set of questions,’ he concluded.
