Internet Disruptions Observed in Armenia: What is the Issue?
Internet disruptions have been observed in Armenia over the past few hours. In a conversation with Sputnik Armenia, the technical department of Ucom stated that the issue is nationwide. The fiber-optic cable entering the country has been damaged.
“A decline in internet speed is being observed throughout Armenia at this time,” noted the specialist. In particular, access to foreign websites has significantly slowed down. Since the problem does not stem from within the country but is actually regional, the specialist found it difficult to specify when it would be resolved.
“Most likely, the issue will be resolved during the day,” the technical department reported. It is worth noting that general internet connection disruptions occur from time to time in Armenia. Last January, Armenia experienced another serious internet disruption when even payments with bank cards were rendered impossible.
