Three Minors Set Fire to Plastic Playground Causing 1 Million Dram Damage
On the evening of January 14, the Operational Control Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report from a patrol officer of the 2nd platoon of the 3rd battalion of the Police Regiment in Yerevan, stating that property at a playground adjacent to the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district's municipality was on fire. This was reported by the Armenian Police.
An operational group from the Malatia Police Department was dispatched to the scene. It was found that unknown individuals had deliberately set fire to the plastic playground structure intended for sliding, causing damage amounting to 1 million drams to the Yerevan community.
A criminal case has been initiated. Thanks to the efforts of criminal investigators in the Malatia division, it was determined that the specified crime was committed by three minors aged 14, 15, and 16. They were taken to the police station with their parents, where, following explanatory work, they provided confessional statements.
The minors and the compiled documents have been submitted to the investigative body. An investigation is underway.
