Earthquake in Azerbaijan Felt in Syunik Region
On January 19, at 22:06 (18:06 GMT), a 5.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded by the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia. The earthquake occurred at geographical coordinates 39.84° north latitude and 48.80° east longitude, 89 km south of the city of Shamakhi, Azerbaijan, at a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the tremor in the epicentral zone reached 7 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was felt in several towns of the Syunik region with an intensity of 2-3 on the scale.
