YouTube Blocks Russian Filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov's 'BесогонTV' Channel

The YouTube channel 'BесогонTV' created by Russian filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov has disappeared from the platform. Meduza reports on this matter. RusNews and Gazeta.ru state that when attempting to access the channel from Russia, a message appears indicating that the account has been blocked for 'multiple violations related to discriminatory statements.' When trying to open the channel from Latvia, a notification informs that the channel is blocked.

Nikita Mikhalkov has yet to comment on the incident. The link to the non-functioning YouTube channel remains accessible on the show’s website.

Nikita Mikhalkov launched the 'BесогонTV' YouTube channel in March 2011. According to open data, the channel had approximately 1.6 million subscribers at the time of its deletion. In his show, Mikhalkov has propagated various conspiracy theories, including claims about Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who is allegedly planning to chip the world's population, and that protesters in Belarus in 2020 were computer-generated graphics.
