VIDEO: EU Mission in Armenia Begins Monitoring Region's 'Intelligence Activities', Lavrov
The EU and the US want to organize the delimitation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border in their own way, bypassing Moscow. This was stated by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry during a press conference.
The EU mission in Armenia has previously tried to 'snoop' on Russia's activities in the region, a fact that Moscow discussed with Yerevan.
'When <…> the document on sending CSTO observers to the Armenia-Azerbaijan border was agreed upon with Armenia, the ministers agreed at a high official level, and Yerevan said it could not sign, and almost simultaneously the EU mission went there. It is the choice of Armenia's leadership that the EU mission has begun to actively inquire about the work of our border guards deployed in Armenia, and fundamentally does not engage in confidence-building measures, but constantly tries to 'snoop' on what is happening, where, how it happens, what Russia looks like there, what it is doing there, and what specific problems are at hand,' Lavrov stated.
