VIDEO: Our Government's Political Challenge is Not to Steal Money, but to Do the Job Properly: Aleksanyan
Recently, even from this podium, there have been sarcastic remarks suggesting to go check hooks and pipes, that you have nothing to do with state governance. This was stated by the member of the 'Civil Contract' party, Vahagn Aleksanyan, during a statement hour in the National Assembly.
“Do you know why this is being said? It is said because in 2021, we promised to renovate or build 300 schools and 500 kindergartens, we promised and we are doing it; that is what we are occupied with. In communities where for years there has been a room resembling a barn instead of a school, we are building complete schools instead of that room. In communities where the word kindergarten has reminded people of scenes from a movie, we are building kindergartens. There are communities where people have not had water for 30 years, they have been fetching water from neighboring villages with a bucket, we are laying pipes there. That is why they say: go check hooks and pipes,” he said.
Aleksanyan emphasized that the government’s political challenge is to do the job properly. “Our government's political challenge, unlike the two opposition political forces, is not to steal money but to do the job properly. We promised to build a school; we are building a school. If there are shortcomings, we identify those shortcomings. The only question remains in all this, dear opposition, what are you for? For rhetorical speeches on Tuesdays that say nothing?” he remarked.
