Luciano Pavarotti and Michael Jackson have never been popular artists of any country, yet they exist and will remain valuable to humanity. This was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, while discussing a proposed bill to abolish honorary titles.

Simonyan explained how honorary artist titles have been awarded in Armenia over the years. "They went to sing at someone's child's wedding, and the sitting boss would say, 'Organize it so we can award him the title of a popular or honored artist.' There are nicknamed individuals who have been given the title of 'Honored' in the field of music. Respect and popularity are not determined by titles. That elite no longer exists; now there is one elite, and that is the people. You gathered those elites and brought them to the square, demanding resignations, and it turned out they have a zero rating among the people. The ‘Yeka’ institutes have a zero rating among the people as well,” stated the President of the National Assembly.

It should be noted that the National Assembly is discussing a new draft of changes to the law on
