Amulsar Mine to Become a Platform for New Standards in Mining Industry, Says Pashinyan
In the past five to six years, we have continuously dealt with issues related to the Amulsar mine, and naturally, there have been significant concerns. The government has been persistent in addressing these concerns and obtaining answers to the questions raised. This was stated today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a discussion on the project of investing in investment funds at a government meeting.
“When we received answers to all those questions, we deemed it possible to continue that project. It is also very commendable that investors wanted the government to participate in this project, which constitutes 12.5 percent of the total shares. This model alleviates many concerns regarding the Amulsar mine and will also serve as an additional incentive for Armenia's economic development. We hope that the Amulsar mine will become a platform for the implementation of new standards in the mining sector, and of course, the government, as a shareholder, will be persistent in this matter,” said the Prime Minister.
