Approximately 19.2 Billion Dram Restored to State Budget: SCS

The Special Investigation Service has restored approximately 19.2 billion dram to the state budget in 2023, according to the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.

“As a result of the investigation into information databases serviced by the company ‘Aktrade Soft,’ including analyses, secret investigative actions, and comprehensive operational-investigative measures, various circumstances regarding the concealment of sales revenues by a number of economic operators were established,” the statement reads.

As a result, by declaring previously hidden tax liabilities, one taxpayer restored approximately 8.9 billion dram in additional tax obligations. It was noted that as a result of supervisory purchases conducted covertly, preliminary calculations of damages caused to the state, and distortions introduced in the calculations submitted to the tax authority, sufficient grounds for immediate arrests and accompanying personal searches were established. Moreover, urgent procedural actions during these events led to the restoration of approximately 1.8 billion dram in additional tax obligations by another 13 taxpayers.

In addition to the aforementioned individuals, undeclared turnover was also discovered among other taxpayers, with the total amount of unpaid taxes reaching about 8.5 billion dram, which was fully restored.
