Citizens to Be Informed About Draft Calls Via Electronic Means

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has proposed to change the procedure for informing citizens about draft calls by adding an electronic notification option. The draft has already been published on the e-draft website.

Citizens will be informed about the draft not only through postal mail but also via personal email, and notifications will be posted on the announcements website azdarar.am. In the first case, the notification will be deemed delivered if the recipient has acknowledged it and confirmed it electronically. In the second case, the notification will be considered delivered five days after its publication on the website.

The justification for the draft states that there are significant cases where citizens avoid attending relevant activities due to the failure to provide proper notifications, which hampers any potential for resolving their accountability.
