PHOTO: Russian Military Aircraft Struck Over Sea of Azov

A photograph has surfaced on Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels, allegedly depicting a Russian military Il-22 aircraft that was struck over the Sea of Azov. Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that the aircraft was hit in that region.

According to sources from Ukrainian media, the Il-22 was only damaged, whereas another Russian aircraft, the A-50, was reportedly destroyed. "To say that the Il-22 crew are true heroes means to say nothing at all," commented the author of the Fighterbomber Z-channel, which is close to Russian military aviation.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, stated that the Air Force had destroyed the A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft and the enemy's Il-22 air command center.
