Location of 16 People Still Being Determined After Wildberries Warehouse Fire
On January 13, the whereabouts of 16 individuals in the Wildberries warehouse in Saint Petersburg, which caught fire, are still being determined. A hotline for relatives is operational around the clock. This was stated on the company's Telegram channel, as reported by RTVI.
“None of the employees from the Shushary warehouse are considered missing. We continue to establish contact with the warehouse employees who were present on January 13. The hotline for relatives operates 24/7,” the message stated.
Wildberries has promised that the first compensation will be paid on Monday, January 15. “Customers whose goods were lost due to the fire will be fully reimbursed. Products that were in other warehouses are being reordered and will soon be delivered to customers,” clarified the Wildberries press service.
The company also noted that a new sorting center will open in Saint Petersburg within two weeks. Deliveries are being carried out as usual.
The fire at the Wildberries warehouse in the village of Shushary near Saint Petersburg started in the early morning of January 13. The fire alarm did not activate as it had been disabled due to repeated false alarms in the previous days. Gradually, the fire spread across 50,000 square meters of storage space, and the structures began to collapse. At one point, the fire was assigned the fifth level of difficulty, the highest level.
