Attempted Murder in Yerevan: Gunshots Reported

Gunshots were reported in Yerevan yesterday. Around 22:30, the police department of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information about gunfire in the yard of building 16 on Bagratuniats Avenue. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.

According to the report, four bullet casings discharged from an automatic firearm were found at the scene, along with parked Lexus and Jeep vehicles that bore evidence of gunfire. "Several citizens gathered at the scene, who refused to speak in front of the camera, stated that the shots were fired at the Lexus, which contained a civilian who fortunately was unharmed. The Lexus was damaged from the gunfire, as well as the Jeep parked beside it," the report noted.

The criminal investigators of the Shengavit police department are working to identify the owners of the Lexus and Jeep. A criminal case has been opened by the Shengavit investigative division on the grounds of "attempted murder."
