Blizzard, Fog: Current Road Conditions

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the Republic of Armenia. Until February 15, due to road maintenance works, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi, around kilometers 38-40, will be closed for buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers. An alternate route will operate through the city of Noyemberyan.

In the Aragatsotn region, the roads leading from the "Amberd" high-mountain meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and K'ari Lake are closed. The Vardenyats Pass, the road from the Jermuk junction to Kapan, and the Kajaran-Meghri roads are closed for trucks with trailers, while the Vardenyats Pass is difficult to traverse for other types of vehicles.

Roads in the Syunik region are impassable for trucks with trailers. There is snowfall in the area known as "Meghri Mountain". On the roads in the Syunik region, specifically in the Saravan-"Zanger" section, there are spots of black ice. Fog is present in the Vardenyats Pass, while blizzard conditions are affecting the Goris-Sisi highway. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

According to information received from the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is closed for trucks.
