Foreigners and Georgian Citizens Attempted to Smuggle Gold Jewelry via Sadakhlo and Sarpi
Several cases of illegal importation of gold jewelry have been discovered in Georgia, as reported by Sputnik Georgia. Foreigners and Georgian citizens attempted to smuggle jewelry weighing a total of 326.3 grams through the Sarpi (Georgian-Turkish border) and Sadakhlo (Georgian-Armenian border) checkpoints, according to the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance.
The individuals arrested have been fined for undeclared goods, amounting to 14,500 lari (approximately 5,400 dollars).
