1.5-Year-Old Child Dies After Boiling Coffee Spilled at Home
A 1.5-year-old child who died at Yerevan's St. Astvatsamayr Medical Center had boiling coffee spilled on them at home. The parents attempted to treat the injuries at home with an unknown ointment and did not seek medical help for two days. This information was reported by the press service of St. Astvatsamayr Medical Center.
The incident occurred in the Ararat Province of Armenia on January 8. On January 10, the child was observed to have a high fever and multiple vomiting episodes, leading to a visit to the Artashat Medical Center. From there, an ambulance transported the child in extremely critical condition to the National Burn Center. Throughout the treatment days, the child's condition worsened. There were issues related to urination, difficulty breathing, abdominal distension, tenderness, and free fluid in the abdomen and chest.
On January 13, at 1:30 AM, the child was transferred to the intensive care unit of St. Astvatsamayr Medical Center in extremely critical condition,” the statement reads. The child had burn wounds on their face, neck, and left upper limb, which led to further complications.
